"And as you would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise."  (luke 6:31)

"But love ye your enemies and do good and lend hopiing for nothing again; and your reward shall be great and ye shall be the children of the highest; for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.  Be ye therefore merciful as your Father also is merciful."  (kuke6: 35-36)

It is very easy to do things for those who do kind things in return.   A true test of our faith in God is our willingness to do things for the unthankful and those considered evil by society.   Do something kind to those who despitefully use you.    Christ is merciful to the unthankful and the evil in our society.   The power of a kind act or a kind word goes a long way. 

It has been said that the priniciple of reciprocity is the basis on which the entire social and ethical life of civilization rest.
